WHY COVID 19 SPARES THE POOR.

By Doyin Okupe

Have you been wondering why  ordinary folks seem to be less affected by covid 19?
Whenever my drivers, house helps and security come back from their leave at home, I always asked them the state of things in their villages. Up till today in the last 1year, none has come back with any news of deaths or serious illnesses requiring hospitalization in their homes or surroundings.
I visited the SABO market in Sagamu and the tomato market at toll gate in ogere. I questioned many traders if any stall or store owners have been missing, or did not come to the market or have actually died. Responses were always negative.
So clearly the prevalence of noticeable infection with covid 19 is less among the lower class and fatalities appear to be higher among the upper class. However, It is  necessary to make some adjustment for the fact that deaths among the elite class readily get media attention than those of regular folks.
Melinder gates prediction failed woefully because there was no way she could have foreseen this demographic prevalence factor in the spread of covid19.
The overall infectivity and fatalities in the africa is disproportionately much lower than the rest of the World!!!

WHAT IS THE MAGIC HERE.?
Simply put, the magic is SUNLIGHT.
People who are daily exposed to sunlight are able to convert some chemicals in their skins to vitamin  D, especially D3.
Scientist have incontrovertible evidence that VitaminD seriously boost the human immunity and actually have capacity to prevent respiratory and lung diseases.
In the case of Covid19, vitaminD3 can prevent infection in some people and in others who still get infected , it decreases the severity of the infection and recovery rate is far better.
Recently a petition signed by 120 physicians spread across the globe, (I have a copy) has been sent to world leaders and governments to treat vitamin D deficiency common in europe and Americas, who have effective sunlight for just a few months in a year and hence have large numbers of the populace suffering from vitamins deficiency leading to high rates of susceptibility to covid19 infections and deaths.
Many of us elites in africa are also vitaminD deficient and this makes us ready targets for covid19 infections also. This is because we are hardly in the sun all year round.
Yet a 30mins lounge daily in the bright sunlight gives one about 20,000 iu of vitamin D in our blood. This figure is much much more higher than our daily requirement of which is about 4000 iu of vitamin D.
This is why young people, students, hawkers, traders and many who toil daily under the Sun  have very high immunity against covid19.
So my dear elders, VIPs and Ogas please walk leisurely or lounge in the sun for 20 to 30mins daily, and with your face masks always on on public and observing normal covid protocols,  with daily supplications to the Almighty, you will place a Ban on covid 19 from affecting you and your household.
God bless you all

MENTALITY OF AN AVERAGE AFRICA MAN

*An African man was allowed to ask for anything he wants

The condition was that, whatever he gets, his brother would receive double.

He thought about asking for a house, but he did not like the thought of his brother having two houses.

So he thought about asking for a million dollars to go to his bank account; but again, he was unhappy with the thought of his brother having two million dollars in his account.

The man sat down and thought hard, “What can I have and still be better than my brother when he has double?”

So, he thought of having one of his eyes removed so that his brother might have his two eyes gouged.

This sounds like a very unlikely story; however, this is the typical mentality that has set Africans backward for ages and caused witchcraft to thrive in Africa.

An African wants to be better than his brother at all costs

The African man is only careful:

-to share his beer, not his books;

-to spread his diseases, and not the cure;

-to transfer his problems, and

not the solution

When an African man fails, he wishes his brother the same fate so that he won't be the only one who had tasted the bitterness of failure.

An African man is happy when evil besets his brother.

When most African men succeed, they want to enslave their brothers; they try to make the class gap between them and their brothers widen daily.

An African man wants to outperform his

brother in every area and most African men do not want to let their brothers have any chances of success because they want to be the only ones succeeding.

When an African man gets to sit on a seat of authority, he wants to keep it to himself and refuses to give anyone else a chance to sit.

In African schools, students who can afford textbooks do not let other students borrow their textbooks because they want to stay top of the class or they don't want to allow another student to perform better than them.

When one independently discovers the way to success, an African man who refused to give directions would still do all he can to stand in the way of that success.

An African man is ready to spend money to intimidate his brother and make him look like nothing.

Africa will become better; When we begin to share books to pass knowledge, not just our drinks.

When we begin to let others also lead without our influence.

When we begin to give the same quality

of food and clothing to both our children and our maids.

When we let our servants eat at the same table with us.

When the boss lets his lower staff get paid before him.

Africa can become progressive when we begin to look out for each other rather than stand in the way of one another.

When we can sincerely say, “let my brother get it too, and if I can't get it, let me help him get it```

Africa development can only be possible in Africans love/respect for other fellows Africans

AYOOLA'S NEW LOOK AJIF COUNCIL SECRETARIAT: A BLESSING IN DISGUISE

By Fakunle Sheriff Ekundayo

While I try to resist the urge of sounding overzealous about the growing legacies of Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola, Council Chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area, the more it becomes difficult to overlook the ongoing magnificent transformation in the local government secretariat, two months after it was looted, vandalized, and torched!

For the 'Enemies at the Gate' who were under the delusion that  Ajeromi-Ifelodun Council secretariat would remain in relics after it was attacked and vandalized should begin to have a rethink and embrace the attitude of empathy and growth in Ajegunle.

Taking a stroll on Ba'ale Adeyemo Street that housed the council secretariat, one cannot help but take a second look at the ongoing transformation in the local government building: The secretariat now wears an aesthetic design of grey steel with the local government's coat of arms resting on the multifaceted official colors of Lagos State government.

Before now, Hon. Ayoola, in October 2020, during his speech which was laden with emotion, had vowed to renovate the secretariat after the attack. And two months later, Ayoola has justified his speech with actions.

Among the recent transformation in the council, the secretariat includes rehabilitation of the legislative chamber for councilors, renovation of the banquet hall, and ongoing construction works for a new multi-purpose hall among other reconstruction works.

Earlier after the loot, the Lagos State government under the leadership of the state governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu had visited the remains of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government secretariat and some Ministries from Alahusa also visited to take inventories.

The inventories include the 89 vehicles that were set ablaze, looted and vandalized offices, vandalized council secretariat buildings that include the legislative chamber for councilors, and other properties left in ruins.

However, the administration of Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola, while waiting for the Lagos governor's support,  has taken proactive steps to bring the local government buildings back to life and make them habitable for daily administration.

Now, aside from the various developmental projects and programs that the administration of Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola has initiated and completed over the last three years as council chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area, the secretariat would be remembered as one of the unmistakable legacies of his administration. And with few support from individuals and cooperate bodies who supported the council chairman with office furniture and air- conditioners and financial support from Wema Bank, Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola is yet to receive any grant from the Lagos State government.

For a man who believes in posterity and excellence, his selfless leadership style has birthed a new culture of tolerance and communal growth.

And like his numerous legacies of becoming the first council chairman in Lagos State to construct a public school that was adjudged as Lagos State government's model by Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, Deputy Governor of Lagos State. Hon. Ayoola is the first council chairman to build sporting facilities in public pry schools: these include a basketball court, table tennis courtyard, and five-Aside Astroturf football pitch.

Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola is the first council chairman in Lagos State to construct a standard Astroturf football pitch with state of the art shock pad in the public pry school of Tolu Nur/ Pry school inside Tolu complex.

He is among the first council chairmen in Lagos State to construct an ICT center and library in public pry schools with free internet facilities and supported with fully paid facilitators.

Among Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola's glowing legacies would be about to be completed first if it's kind of Housing Estate in the Tolu community.

Also, the long-awaited Maracana stadium would be completed soon, and the world can marvel at the rapid development in Ajegunle.

His 21 inner roads project is fast connecting many communities in Ajegunle for benefit of road users and commercial purposes.

Public schools and education under his administration have taken a new leap with digital skills.

Over 5000 women and youths have been empowered with financial grants and business skills.

And security agencies in Ajegunle are continuously supported by his administration.

For any succeeding council chairman in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area by 2025 hopefully, will have the legacies of Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola to consolidate on.

The new-look council secretariat will not stand like the tower of Babel, despite the multi-ethnic tribe domiciled in Ajegunle, but it shall henceforth represent a symbol of unity and pride with one voice for every member of the various communities across Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area.

This new look AJIF secretariat is a blessing in disguise for Ayoola. It represents the dexterity and willingness of a man who believes in his place of birth and is determined to change the narrative across communities in Ajegunle.

The journey has just begun, Ayoola's legacies in Ajegunle is destined by the supreme being, and let no man covet what God has ordained till 2025 in Ajegunle!

Ayo ni ooo....
